How to Play

Play Animals Connect 2 online for free. Animals Connect 2 is an animal-themed 16 stage Mahjong Connect game where players must clear each stage of tiles before the timer runs out. As you progress through the game the level time limit shrinks while the number of stones on each stage increases. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button in the lower left of the game’s welcome screen to start playing.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially.
- Your web browser saves your game progress including beat levels and level scores.
- Near the play button there are buttons for how to play help advice, game high scores, and more games to play.
- In the lower left corner of the game’s welcome screen is a language select drop down.
- In the lower right corner of the game’s welcome screen are buttons for sharing the game on social networks and reading game developer information.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Select a tile with your mouse left click button then select a matching tile which can be connected by a straight line that does not pass through other tiles or a line that turns at 90 degrees up to two times without running through other stones.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Touch the screen with a finger to select matching tiles to remove them.
      - Controls & indicators
        At the top of the right rail there is a full screen mode button.
        Underneath that button it shows which level you are on, your cumulative game score & how much time you have remaining to complete the current level.
        Underneath those data points are buttons to pause the game, shuffle tiles, take a hint, control game sound, and control game music.
        You can shuffle tiles & take hints 3 times per level, but doing so costs you points.
        Game Play
        Matching stones
        You can connect any of the following:
        2 directly adjacent identical stones
        2 identical stones which can be connected with a straight line that does not pass through any other stones
        2 identical stones which can be connected with a line that turns 90 degrees once or twice while also not passing through any other stones
        Play tips
        The easiest tiles to match are corner tiles, since they can match across or vertically.
        The next easiest tiles to match are other edge pieces, then center pieces.
        It is best to try to create gaps between columns or rows so that almost every tile which is shown is open & can be matched.
        Some Mahjong Connect games have the tiles fill in one direction or another as gaps are created in the playing field.
        This game does not move tiles to fill in gaps, though whenever you have removed all tiles for a particular animal that animal will appear in the game’s background.
        Levels
        The first stage gives you 5 minutes to clear a 7×4 board with 28 stones or 14 pair.
        The second stage gives you 4:45 to clear a 5×6 board with 30 stones or 15 pair.
        The third stage gives you 4:30 to clear a 5×8 board with 40 stones or 20 pair.
        The fourth stage gives you 4:15 to clear a 6×9 board with 54 stones or 27 pair.
        The fifth stage gives you 4:00 to clear a 7×10 board with 70 stones or 35 pair.
        The sixth stage gives you 3:45 to clear a 8×11 board with 88 stones or 44 pair.
        Each subsequent stage has the same 8×11 board size, but with a 15 second shorter time limit. The seventh stage gives you 3:30, the eighth stage 3:15, the nineth stage 3:00, the tenth stage 2:45, the eleventh stage 2:30, the twelfth stage 2:15, the thirteenth stage 2:00, the fourteenth stage 1:45. the fifteenth stage 1:30 and the sixteenth stage 1:15.
        The last few stages require near perfect play requiring you to make a match every 2 seconds or less.
        Levels are considered beat when you remove all tiles from the level.
        If no matches are possible the game will automatically shuffle the tiles for you.
        If you fail a level you can choose to end your game or replay the level.
        Scoring
        Each tile match you make is worth 50 points.
        If you chain many consecutive moves in a short period of time you can get a chain bonus which increases in value geometrically as you include more tiles in the chain.
        2 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 30.
        3 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 60.
        4 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 100.
        5 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 150.
        6 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 210.
        7 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 280.
        8 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 360.
        9 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 450.
        10 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 550.
        11 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 660.
        12 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 780.
        13 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 910.
        14 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,050.
        15 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,200.
        16 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,360.
        17 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,530.
        18 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,710.
        19 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 1,900.
        20 consecutive moves is a chain bonus of 2,100.
        It is hard to keep the chain bonus going in this game as you have to make each subsequent move quickly.
        Shuffling tiles costs you 300 points.
        Requesting hints costs you 200 points.
        You also earn bonus points for finishing levels quickly. Each second you have remaining when you complete a level is worth 30 points.
