Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Play Coin Snake online for free. Coin Snake is a classic arcade snake game where players try to maneuver the snake to collect as many coins as possible without colliding with any part of its body. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • To begin the game, click on the big play button in the middle of the screen below the Coin Snake title.
      • Clicking it will redirect you to a page with a simple instruction on how to play the game.
      • Click “Start” at the bottom to begin playing the game.
      • The game automatically saves your high score in the local web browser.
        • On the top right corner icon is the full screen button. Select it to put the game on full screen view.
          • Clicking it while on full screen mode will revert it back to normal.
          • Clicking the top right icon while on using a tablet or phone will automatically make the game full screen with horizontal view.
          • There is a sound button on the bottom of the welcome screen. Select it to toggle the sound “on” or “off”.
          • Note that the red button located on the top left corner does not function.
          • Game Controls
            • Mouse
              • Using your mouse, click on the LEFT or RIGHT button located on the bottom of the game. Use these screen buttons to maneuver the snake left or right.
              • The game does not use keyboard buttons to navigate the snake.
                • Touchscreen
                  • Using your finger, tap the LEFT or RIGHT button located on the bottom of the game to maneuver the snake left or right.
                  • In-Game Interface
                    • In the top right corner of the screen is the total coin counter. This shows how much money you’ve accumulated since you’ve started playing the game.
                      • Refreshing the game resets the coin counter.
                      • The “Eat” counter on the top middle part of the game shows you how many coins you’ve consumed so far.
                        • It starts from 0 as you start each level.
                        • To pause the game, click the pause button on the top right corner of the screen. When you select this, it shows a couple of other options, such as:
                          • The 1st icon is the Sound toggle button. Click it to turn the sound “on” or “off.”
                          • The 2nd icon is the Main Menu button. Click it to go back to the main page.
                          • The 3rd icon is the Level Refresh button. Click it to restart your current game.
                          • The arrow icon at the center is the Play button. Click it to resume your game.
                          • Interface After Completing a Level
                            • After clearing each level, the game will show your Total Coins, Score, and High Score.
                            • There will be 3 button available:
                              • The 1st icon is the Refresh button. Click it to reset the game and play again.
                              • The 2nd icon is the Main Menu button. Click it to go back to the main page.
                              • The 3rd icon is the Share button. This redirects you to a page where you can:
                                • Share your score. The Share Score button will download an image file with your game stats on it.
                                • To go back to the end level screen, click the red door button.
                                • Strategy
                                  • Move the the snake left or right as needed to collect a coin that randomly appears on the map.
                                    • There will only be 1 coin available each time.
                                    • Consuming a coin will add a point to your “eat” counter.
                                    • Collecting more coins will make your snake longer. This will make it more challenging to maneuver.
                                    • Avoid colliding with your tail or any part of your snake’s body. Doing so will end the game.
                                      • Use the map or circle around it to make your move safer. This strategy will help you avoid bumping into your tail.
                                      • Going outside of the map will just spawn your snake on the other side. Use this feature to your advantage as it doesn’t limit the movement of the snake. If the coin is on the other side, take this as a short cut. It’s much faster than crossing the entire screen.
                                      • This infinite arcade snake game does not end unless you die. Your snake will keep getting longer until it covers a considerable portion of your screen. Expect the game to become trickier as you move more carefully to avoid hitting your tail or any part of your snake’s body.
                                        • Have fun trying to beat your top score with each game. If you like playing with friends, compare high scores to see who can play it best.
